Boluda and OPDR merge maritime services in the Canary Islands

The shipping company Boluda Lines and German OPDR, which are part of CMA CGM, have agreed on a strategic partnership for operations in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Palma.

“This new partnership allows us to offer the fastest transit times in the market of Rotterdam and Hamburg, among others”, said the German company last Friday.

Boluda Lines and OPDR therefore reinforce their activity to and from the Canary Islands by giving greater coverage. In particular, customers in the business of moving goods quickly benefit from the fruits of this new alliance.

This agreement means that there will be two departures per week from Tilbury, Rotterdam and Hamburg to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in just eight, nine and ten days. For La Palma, departures will be once a week.

This newly formed partnership not only highlights the capacity of OPDR Boluda to adapt quickly in a competitive market, "but also the role of two leading maritime short distance transport companies," said a spokesman for OPDR.
